Since 1922, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has sponsored a fire prevention campaign each October to raise the public?s awareness about the importance of fire safety.

Today, the association announced the theme for the 2008 campaign: “It?s Fire Prevention Week ? Prevent Home Fires! “
