The Fire Protection Research Foundation, an affiliate of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), today announced the winners of the William M. Carey Award.
The winning paper in the suppression category is Investigation of Hold Time Calculation Methodologies for Total Flood Clean Extinguishing Agents (PDF, 779 KB), authored by Todd Hetrick and Paul Rivers of 3M Fire Protection.
The winning paper in the detection category is An Analysis of the Performance of Residential Smoke Detection Technologies Utilizing the Concept of Relative Time (PDF, 138 KB), authored by Elizabeth Milarcik, Stephen Olenick, and Richard Roby of Combustion Science and Engineering, Inc.
