2. TREASURER'S REPORT: Ken Wagoner
reports that the Charity Account balance is $16,026.37 and the General Account
balance is $1,713.43. All bills are
paid.

FPO REPORT: Sam Husoe provided a report. Highlights include:
- Adoption
process continues on NFPA 25. Looks like
it will pass soon. 15 days remain in the
comment period
- A hearing is
pending on the modifications to the CBC on recommendations that the double
effect of automatic sprinklers in Chapter 5, only apply to State Regulated
Buildings.
- FPO information is always available at:
www.firepreventionofficers.org.
- Mary Tedesco
of Alpine Fire Dept. reported on local FPO group activities. They recently viewed a very informative
presentation on weld inspections.
4. EDUCATION REPORT: The San Diego
Fire Protection Association continues to sponsor the Fire Sprinkler Technology
Seminar Series. This is a monthly
workshop-style seminar series intended for AHJ's, Plan Reviewers, Field
Inspectors & Designers.
- Ken
Wagoner reported that the class held on August 3rd went very
well! Mark Fessenden of Tyco
presented information on recent testing with residential sprinklers in
steeply pitched ceilings (12:12) with beam and pockets. Report shows significant changes from
previous concepts on head response.

- Sergio Periera advised that committees were being formed to
help reach the goal of improving service from the SDFD to their customers. Any interest from SDFPA members is welcome!

PROGRAM: Our guest speaker was unable to attend. There was an excellent opportunity to share
ideas and network at this months special ½ price luncheon!
