7. PROGRAM:  Chief Mike Rottenberg from the City of Santee gave an overview of a controlled burn that was conducted with the cooperation of the Burn Institute and Sexton Fire.  The lesson learned is that sprinklers work - and they work well!  The biggest difficulty that they had was that the sprinklers kept putting out the fires they set too soon.  They finally had to shut off the water so that the fires could get established, then turn the water back on.  The sprinklers still put out the fires with no problem.  Very interesting presentation, and our special thanks to Chief Rottenberg for joining us.

Mike Moffat, President
Terri Leyton, Secretary
