retire this month. His replacement is
Bruce LeCair, formerly with Woodland Fire Dept.

resume in next week, on April 3, 2008, at a new location. The class will
be held in the training room of Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department Station #2,

by taking I-15 either north or south to Camino Del Norte, and exiting to the

and turn right. The fire station is the first structure on the left. The topic will be Hanging and Bracing. Cost, as
always is $15.00, payable at the door for Coffee and stuff. RSVP to Ken Wagoner,

The March class on Fire
Pumps was very well attended and received, with over 25 classroom attendees and
over 40 attendees at the Fire Pump Test.
Special thanks to Deputy Fire Marshal David Parsons of the Oceanside
Fire Department for hosting us at their training facility, to Paul Bennett of
Starfire for the Pump class and to Adam Boisvert of Epic Fire Protection who
provided the equipment and personnel for the live Fire Pump test.
OLD BUSINESS/PAST EVENTS:
-
In December, the Association sent out a letter to all of the AHJ’s in San Diego, Imperial, Southern
Riverside and Southern Orange Counties explaining the intent of
the Fire Department Surveys, and requesting their participation by returning
the survey for inclusion on the Association website. This year, the survey is much more user
friendly, and can be filled out on line and returned by e-mail. Our webmaster will then convert the file to a
PDF file that can’t be changed except by authorized personnel. This month the Association will be contacting
those AHJ’s who have not returned the questionnaire to assist them if
necessary. We have some volunteers who
will be doing follow up calls to the AHJ’s this month to try to get the full
participation that we need.
-
Burn Institute Events: Fire Ball will
be held on 4/4/08, Padres Firefighter Night 5/10/08, Spirit of Courage Awards
5/22/08 and the Annual Burn Run/Expo at Qualcomm will be held on 7/19/08.

7. PROGRAM:
Our guest speaker was our own Chris
Bohon, in his role as Overall Coordinator of our annual Charity Golf
tournament. Chris provided a very
informative presentation on Sponsorships available, Tournament organization and
costs. It is shaping up to be another
very successful event, but it won’t happen without great participation. So polish up the clubs, hit the driving range
for some practice, and come on out for a great cause.
