2. TREASURER'S
REPORT: Ken Wagoner reports that
the Charity Account balance is $1,749.37.
General Checking Account balance is $1,251.71 All bills are paid.
3. FPO REPORT: FPO information is always available at: www.firepreventionofficers.org. Sam Husoe reported that California has passed amendments to Title 19
which incorporate some of the maintenance requirements found in NFPA 25. These changes will be effective as of
4/1/06. Stay tuned for more on the
changes and educational opportunities in Southern CA
on this subject. Copies of the
California Edition of NFPA-25 will be available in March. Also, NFPA-13 2002 Edition has been adopted
by the State of California
4. EDUCATION REPORT: The San Diego Fire Protection Association
continues to sponsor the Fire Sprinkler Technology Seminar Series. This is a monthly workshop-style seminar
series intended for AHJ's, Plan Reviewers, Field Inspectors & Designers.

Center, Date/Time:
1st Thursday of Each Month, 8:00 - Noon
Topics: NFPA
13, 13D, 13R - 1999 and 2002 editions
Last class' topic was “10 critical items to watch for when
plan checking”. It was well attended!
Next up: In April,
there will be a special presentation on NFPA-25 with California amendments, which will become
effective that month. A special
notification will be sent to all on our e-mail list. In particular, the training session will be
moved to Tuesday, April 10 at 0800.
Location is still to be determined, but we are trying to find a place
near SDSU so that participants can join the Association for our regular meeting
that same day.

OLD BUSINESS/PAST EVENTS:
- The FSCASC Holiday Day at the
Races was a big success, and it is confirmed that they will do this again next
January.

Diego Chapter regular meeting. 1130 at
Seau''s
- 4/10 - SDFPA regular
meeting. Guest Speaker: Russ Leavitt,
former SDFPA President, speaking on NFPA-25 Changes.

Diego Chapter regular meeting. 11:30 at
Sizzler on Aero Drive.

PROGRAM:
Mr. Troy Anderson, Director of Public Information for the San Diego
Association of Governments (SANDAG) briefed the association on major changes
coming in the next 10 years in the areas of transportation, population,
construction and major infrastructure.
It was a very interesting and informative program, and we thank Mr.
Anderson for his presentation.
