PROGRAM:
Steve Leyton, Protection Design & Consulting provided an
informative discussion of the recently chartered Rate Study Task Force. Its purpose is to research, compose and
hopefully pass a bill into law that would restrict water purveyors from
charging higher rates to sprinklered homes than they would charge if the same
dwellings were not furnished with fire sprinklers. The group is includes fire officials, fire
sprinkler industry, NFPA, NFSA, AFSA, the Southern California Sprinkler
Advisory Board, California State Fire Fighters Association and the Building Industry
Association, and represents one of the most diverse coalitions to ever work on
a pro-residential fire sprinkler issue.
Mike Moffat, President
Terri Leyton, Secretary
